Blue Won­der Com­mu­ni­ca­tions - the in­de­pen­dent de­sign house for mo­bile broad­band so­lu­tions serv­ing the telecom­mu­ni­ca­tions and semi­con­duc­tors in­dus­try - an­nounced the­suc­cess­ful com­ple­tion of fund­ing. The in­vestors are the Tech­nolo­giegrün­der­fonds Sach­sen Seed GmbH & Co. KG (TGFS) and the Mit­tel­ständis­che Beteili­gungs­ge­sellschaft Sach­sen mbH (MBG Sach­sen).

„We have made it our busi­ness to provide well di­rect­ed sup­port to trend-set­ting ideas and busi­ness­es with in­vest­ments in equity and - based on this - to strength­en the com­pa­nies long term po­si­tion", com­ments Friede­mann Stier, In­vest­ment Di­rec­tor at CFH Beteili­gungs­ge­sellschaft Leipzig, on the in­vest­ment by the TGFS. „Blue Won­der Com­mu­ni­ca­tions pro­vides an ex­pe­ri­enced and en­gaged team with bril­liant ideas. This is a po­ten­tial we will sup­port with our best ef­fort."

Blue Won­der Com­mu­ni­ca­tions will fo­cus on the de­vel­op­ment of broad­band tech­nol­o­gy for high data rate
trans­mis­sion, that sup­ports the next gen­er­a­tion mo­bile stan­dard LTE (Long Term Evo­lu­tion). This tech­nol­o­gy can be in­te­grat­ed by semi­con­duc­tor com­pa­nies in cel­lu­lar ICs for use in mo­bile phones and wire­less PC adapters. It en­ables the use of data ser­vices, par­tic­u­lar­ly mo­bile In­ter­net, that need fast data trans­mis­sion and re­sis­tance to in­ter­fer­ence. In­ter­net surf­ing, on­line games and video tele­pho­ny us­ing mo­bile de­vices will feel like be­ing con­nect­ed via DSL. „The ca­pa­bil­i­ties of the mo­bile phone are be­com­ing un­bound­ed. Just a few years ago the func­tion­al­i­ty was lim­it­ed to phone, text mes­sages and small pic­tures. With LTE ev­ery­thing is pos­si­ble start­ing with trans­fer of high data rates up to tele­vi­sion", ex­claims Dr. Wol­fram Drescher, Manag­ing Di­rec­tor and Head of Fi­nance at Blue Won­der Com­mu­ni­ca­tions. He is con­vinced that the de­mand for even faster and more se­cure ac­cess to data ser­vices will fur­ther af­fect the mo­bile mar­ket for many years.

Blue Won­der Com­mu­ni­ca­tions start­ed op­er­a­tions in April with a team of 40 em­ploy­ees. „Our team con­sists of ex­perts for mo­bile com­mu­ni­ca­tions so­lu­tions. A good por­tion of them have worked to­geth­er for many years and have de­vel­oped in­no­va­tive prod­ucts in the Sys­te­mon­ic AG and suc­ceed­ing busi­ness­es", says Dr. Peter Mey­er, Manag­ing Di­rec­tor and Head of De­vel­op­ment at Blue Won­der Com­mu­ni­ca­tions. „We have a lot of ideas and need all avail­able hands and heads for the re­al­iza­tion - and even more." Growth has al­ready been planned: Blue Won­der Com­mu­ni­ca­tions will in­crease the team up to 150 em­ploy­ees in the next three years.
