Fol­low­ing the trend of in­te­gra­tion the com­plete tele­com and semi­con­duc­tor in­dus­try is chang­ing. While 20 years ago modems were com­plete end cus­tomer prod­ucts, to­day they are on­ly one build­ing block and check mark amongst many. Yet, com­plex­i­ty does not scale but even in­crease over time. So, Blue Won­der is pro­vid­ing com­plete LTE modem so­lu­tions to its cus­tomers to en­able them to con­cen­trate on what they do best – build­ing com­plex fea­ture rich sys­tems for their cus­tomers.

Blue Won­der sup­ports this by pro­vid­ing both prod­ucts as BWC200 and sup­port to build com­plete LTE en­abled so­lu­tions.

 

Products

BWC200 LTE Sub­sys­tem

The BWC200 pro­duct is an in­te­gra­tion ready LTE sub­sys­tem and con­sists of a com­plete LTE phys­i­cal lay­er in­clud­ing lay­er 1 soft­ware. It pro­vides a 3GPP Re­lease 8 TDD and FDD mul­ti-mode so­lu­tion, up to cat­e­go­ry 4. This pro­duct is the suc­ces­sor of Blue Won­der's first gen­er­a­tion test mo­bile, which was used as test user equip­ment again­st lead­ing edge pro­to­col testers.

BWC200 com­pris­es the 2nd gen­er­a­tion LTE pro­duct and is de­signed for sil­i­con in­te­gra­tion from scratch - op­ti­mized for low­est pow­er con­sump­tion and chip area uti­liza­tion. It in­cor­po­rates ad­vanced tech­niques from IC im­ple­men­ta­tion up to LTE sys­tem level, e.g.:

  • Size and pow­er op­ti­mized dis­tribut­ed DSPs
  • Ded­i­cat­ed HW for sig­nal pro­cess­ing
  • Ad­vanced in­ter­con­nec­tion ar­chi­tec­tures
  • Min­i­mum clock speed, clock gat­ing, volt­age scal­ing

Blue Won­der pro­vides a de­vel­op­ment sys­tem, which in­cludes all re­quired in­ter­faces to al­low the rel­e­vant in­ter­op­er­abil­i­ty tests. The BWC200 will be de­liv­ered pre-val­i­dat­ed and pre-cer­ti­fied by the Blue Won­der ref­er­ence sys­tem.
